Cooler Master on Wednesday announced the full-sized follow-up to their popular QuickFire Rapid keyboard. The QuickFire XT mechanical keyboard includes laser-marked keycaps, a non-glossy matte finish and an extra set of keycaps (key puller included) should you want to mix things up a bit.

Other features include a response time of 1ms in USB mode and the ability to disable the Windows key in Game mode. When on the go (perhaps heading to your next LAN party), the braided USB cable can be removed and stored separately - a convenient feature that I haven't seen on other boards. A number of multimedia shortcut keys allow users to control media with ease while N Key Rollover in PS/2 mode allows gamers to press multiple keys at the same time.

The board ships with Cherry MX switches although we are told switch availability (Cherry MX Red, Green, Brown or Blue) will vary based on region. The keys come with a guaranteed 50 million+ keystroke lifetime while the board itself is backed with an embedded steel plate for increased stability and durability.

Cooler Master urges users to check out their website to learn more about Cherry MX switches and the benefits of mechanical keyboards although if you've ever used one yourself, you already realize how superior they can be over traditional membrane boards.

Those interested in the CM Storm QuickFire XT can purchase one today starting at $89.99 for the Cherry MX Blue switches or $99.99 for Red switches through the Cooler Master store.
