We can confidently recommend the G29 and G27 on their performance, feel, and build quality, but would steer PC gamers toward the cheaper G27 for the time being. Regardless of which wheel is purchased, buying a mid-range or better unit is something we feel strongly about for racing sim fanatics. I've never had as much fun with racing games as with racing wheels – the G29 included.
The Logitech G29 Driving Force is a solidly built racing wheel. The included pedal set is just as solid, and works together with the wheel to give a surprisingly realistic driving experience, especially when paired with modern racing sims. Fans and owners of prior Logitech wheels may scoff at the omission of a shifter, (long overdue) lack of belt drive, and higher cost of this new wheel.
Racing fans who really want to take their virtual racing to the next level will find that Logitech’s G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel is a fantastic option with enough power and versatility to really drive the experience forward.
If you just want to turn a wheel, there are great options to be had for less cost. However, the G29 is what you want when you desire to truly recreate the unequaled sense of driving nearly any vehicle of your choice in your office or living room. The physical and digital elements of the G29 have come together to deliver a wonderful package.
This isn’t a wheel you just put in your lap and drive with. You have to have space and reasonable mounting options. Real seat setups can cost more than this wheel. The technology behind the G29/920 and the options are what you’re paying for and you will be happy that you did not cheap out with an entry-level wheel.
