Sonos Sub Mini

After a decade of waiting, Sonos fans finally have a viable option for beefing up their sound that isn’t obscenely expensive. And if you're lucky enough to have multiple Sonos devices, you can easily move that bass magic all over your home. It may be called the Sub Mini, but really it’s all about maximizing sound where it matters.

The Sonos Sub Mini adds deep, powerful bass to Sonos’ smaller Ray and Beam soundbars as well as its range of wireless speakers.

The Sonos Sub Mini is a lovely looking subwoofer (yes we did just say that), with a statement design that makes it stand out from the crowd of traditional black boxes. It offers great performance too, delivering extra depth to music when required and enhancing action scenes in movies to offer a more realistic and immersive experience. It's biggest problem is how many people really need it, making it a lovely luxury more than a necessity.

The Sonos Sub Mini is a valuable addition for Sonos Arc users with limited space, and is a just-about justifiable purchase for the Sonos Beam at its price. It adds a lot to the Sonos Ray too, but it's harder to recommend in terms of value.

The Sub Mini isn’t technically or acoustically as powerful as the standard Sub, but it succeeds in providing an immersive, full-bodied audio experience that’s only possible with a “complete” Sonos home theater system. And it deals less damage to your bank account.

The compact Sub Mini is easy integrated and makes a big sonic impression when hooked up to Sonos One speakers or Ray soundbar setups.

Smaller and cheaper (but not cheap) than its predecessor, the Sonos Sub Mini is designed primarily to work with the smaller speakers and soundbars. It improves the sound quality of any speaker it’s paired with, delivering greater range and more bass, all while avoiding becoming too boomy or dominating. In many way it’s the perfect upgrade for a lot of Sonos speakers, but the high price means that it’s a lot more expensive than many of the speakers it would be paired with, which could make this a hard purchase to justify.
