The Fortress FT04 is a case designed to maximize cooling while generating as little noise as possible. The FT04 features CPU and graphics card supporters, a removable motherboard tray, and an externally accessible fan filter assembly. Capping off the design is a one piece-like extruded aluminum front door and top panel.
The Fortress FT04 has been designed to maximize cooling while generating as little noise as possible and it sets out to do it in style. Upon first glance this latest version looks a lot like the FT01 that was released back in 2008.
As I mentioned in the first part of the Review, this case is a rare case to find since the Silverstone Fortress FT05 made its debut. This does not make this case any less but more to me because it was not a very popular case and therefore there are not...
We never really intended this review to run to eleven pages, but it seems there must have been quite a bit to get through. An indication if nothing else that the FT04 has a lot to say for itself. Taking the case out of the box you're immediately...
Because the hard drive rack and motherboard tray are fully removable from the SilverStone Fortress FT04, it really does not matter what you install first, because you could use almost all the room in the world to do your work. This is definitely a...
I would like to thank Silverstone for supplying the review sample. Specifications Silverstone Fortress FT04 CASE TYPE: Mid-Tower MATERIAL: Aluminum door and top panel, steel body WEIGHT: 11.5kg SLOTS: 8 DRIVE BAYS: 2x External 5.25" 7x Internal 3.5" (2x...
The Fortress FT04 is a big step up over the Raven RV04. Even though they share the same internal design, externally things have improved massively, with the new aluminium front and roof bolstering the case's aesthetics, build quality and overall...
Which ATX tower is the most elite? We invited more than two dozen brands to compete. Today, Azza, In Win, Rosewill, and SilverStone (the first four to respond), face off in a battle to out-do each other in price, features, performance, and pizzazz. The...
The Silverstone Fortress has always been one of the more unique choices from Silverstone, take their stunning FT03 and FT-03 mini for example. Yet where the last model features a tall tower design, the FT04 take an almost more conventional approach by...
Bringing our thoughts to a close, its safe to say the all-new Fortress FT04 has left a lasting impression upon us. Those of you who read our review of SilverStone Raven 4 will realise that there are strong similarities between this case and the...
The SilverStone Fortress FT04 Case looks brilliant, comes with aluminum front door and top panel, two 180mm fans, lots of drives, tons of space to work, has a removable motherboard tray, fits long video cards, cable management, acoustic dampening...
Following its predecessors from the Raven and Fortress series, the SilverStone FT04 boasts excellent cooling/acoustic performance against more conventional competitors. It's not up to snuff with the FT02, ostensibly because it lacks the third 18 cm...
If I were designing a case right now I'd take a very hard look at the FT04's chassis and start thinking about how I could refine it into something cleaner, simpler, cheaper to produce, and easier to work in. If you're willing to put up with its myriad quirks, the FT04 is a dynamite performer. I just find myself too caught up in "what could've been" to be happy with what "is."
I’ve spoken to a lot of case designers since I started covering enclosures here at AnandTech, and my number one piece of advice has almost always been “pay attention to what SilverStone is doing.
In this price class fan must not give the impression simple, a Düsenjet hurtles through the office. Whether one on the right housing page and power and reset switch on the left page finds the positioning of the USB ports good or bad, is certainly a subjective assessment and also depends on the Place, at which the compressor housing is later. Us personally, this point jetzt not disturbed, with others users like this look different.
