I think NVIDIA has made tremendous strides with Ampere and continues to grow what Turing started with the RTX series. Not only does the RTX 3080 bring a giant leap for 4K and competitive gaming, but it is also accomplished this without forgetting the importance of having a price that is still affordable for those gaming enthusiasts. This is just the tip of the iceberg, and with future Ampere installments, it is only to get better over time.

At $699 the GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition video card offers gamers a lot of gaming performance and features that will improve the gameplay experience. At the end of the day the gameplay experience is most important, and the GeForce RTX 3080 FE has the ability to transform that gameplay experience with features like Ray Tracing and DLSS.

If you've been holding out like so many with a 1080Ti you might have just found your price equivalent upgrade. Even if you have an RTX 2080 TI could see the benefit of upgrading as well if you feel you need quite the boost anyway. Ampere delivers and it's quite easy to see why NVIDIA was so AMP'd.

With the RTX 3080 we finally have a graphics card that redefines the $699 performance level in a way that eclipses even the GTX 1080 Ti. It’s an exciting time to be an enthusiast, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the RTX 3070 – and (fingers crossed) the RTX 3090 as well.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 is the first GPU that’s truly capable of 4K ray tracing with a respectable performance, and is therefore a must-have purchase for any hardcore gamer looking for top-notch performance.

If you’re interested in making the jump to 1440p instead of 4K, then the RTX 3080 will give you so much headroom I don’t think you’ll need to upgrade your PC for years. On the 4K side, you’ll be upgrading to a card that provides solid frame rates with all of the settings maxed out without putting a hole in your wallet. 4K PC gaming is here, and it’s finally a lot more affordable.
