The Cougar Attack X3 packs real Cherry MX switches and optional RGB lighting, but a nonstandard bottom row might make it a stretch (literally) for gamers.
The COUGAR ATTACK X3 is currently available for around $80 on Amazon. Cheap Cherry MX switches UIX System works very well Bright RGB LEDs Can be used without a driver Easy-to-use macros and programmable keys Sleeved cable Media keys Feels very light,...
While the Attack X3 slides neatly under the price points of its competition, it's also a much less impressive keyboard than those options even $10 to $20 more expensive, like the Corsair Strafe or the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate. If you're willing to...
As a writer and gamer, the keyboard is my most essential tool. This makes the review process particularly tricky, because not every great gaming keyboard is equally effective for typing, and vice versa. Take the recently reviewed Gamdias Hermes Lite for...
Software's a pretty small caveat though. This is basically a flagship keyboard with an entry-level sticker price. Full per-key RGB lighting, Cherry MX switches, decent build quality, wrist rest—Cougar's pulled out all the stops here, and then charged...
Cougar have set out to produce the best gaming peripherals on the market, but they've forgotten some major points with the Cougar Attack X3 RGB; mainly the lack of an included wrist support, poor Cougar UiX software, the half-height return key and the...
The Cougar Attack X3 RGB keyboard functioned well in use, and was used to write this review as well as playing games, and other tasks! The RGB colors were vivid and popped nicely against the brushed aluminum plate. The Cougar UIX System software also...

The Cougar Attack X3 is a cheap mechanical keyboard, in price and, unfortunately, also in quality. Cougar cut enough corners in the design and manufacturing of the X3 that I do not feel comfortable recommending it. The case is extremely flimsy, the lighting is limited and inconsistent-looking thanks to the spacebar void, and the PCB's excess flux residue raises a potential red flag about the quality. Although the X3 had some redeeming qualities such as the Cherry MX switches and excellent software, the overall experience was less than savory. At $99, the price is at least relatively low.
The Cougar X3 is a keyboard with some enticing qualities, especially when considering the included software, but the overall lack of quality and cheap feel of the X3 left something to be desired, even in its price range. $89.99 Newegg MORE:...
