Eve Spectrum 4K 27"

Overview

There's a lot to like from the Eve Spectrum 4K from a performance perspective, while it's less stellar on the availability and pricing front. Outside of HDR, where the Spectrum is not very good, this monitor performs very well. Response times are decent, and right where you’d want them to be for a modern IPS gaming monitor, plus we get very good backlight strobing and an important feature in HDMI 2.1.

The Eve Spectrum ES07D03 has everything you'd expect from a premium Ultra HD gaming monitor: 144 Hz refresh, Adaptive-Sync, HDR and extended color. It sets itself apart with excellent overdrive, premium build quality and a reasonable price.

The Eve Spectrum ES07D03 spectrum is surprisingly very good in all of its aspects such as its image quality. The company delivers its promise in colors and vibrancy, while gaming performance is beyond what most would expect. We love its simple design that puts emphasis on functionality, although the need to buy the stand separately is a bummer.

There's a lot to love about the Eve Spectrum 4K 144Hz, from its blazing fast speeds to its high resolution, vibrant colour calibration, and frequent firmware updates. Its dodgy HDR leaves something to be desired, but there's little else out there that scratches as many itches as this gaming monitor does.

A beautiful-looking monitor with a crisp, vibrant panel to match. Its HDMI 2.1 connection only adds to the versatile package that Eve has created with its first monitor. Beauty and utility, it's quite a mix.

If your interests are more pedestrian - say, just 4K 144Hz PC gaming - then you might prefer a model from a more mainstream monitor brand that offers similar performance, a cleaner OSD and less post-launch support worries. Regardless, the Spectrum is one of the best HDMI 2.1 monitors we've tested and even one of the best screens we've had in our Digital Foundry HQ full stop. It's an impressive result for a company's first monitor, and if Eve follows through with sales and support, we have no qualms giving it a strong recommendation.
