There can be no doubt: once you go curved, you won’t ever go back. We can expect to see more and more of these displays reach the market in the year ahead, and manufacturers get more aggressive in their attempts to sell them to gamers and productivity users alike. But for now, in the curved-monitor arms race, LG is definitely winning.

This monitor has been worth it to me. If you don’t care too much about viewing experience and staying on top of technology, I would give it a few years. These things should drop in price and be readily available. You definitely don’t need one of these. But if you have one and are able to use it properly, I don’t think you’ll regret it.

The amount of UWQHD monitors on the market keeps growing. This is nice, since potential buyers will have more models to choose from. Since our last test the prices have decreased a bit, but there have been quite a few new releases at the top of the market. A display in this class remains a costly investment, but you do get your money's worth.

The LG 34UC98 UltraWide display is an awesome display when used with the right applications. For using timeline-based audio and video editing applications, it truly excels and can make editing easier. Anamorphic widescreen movies fill the entire display and look downright incredible. If either of those use-cases fit your circumstances, then I can easily recommend LG’s UltraWide offering.
