F1 2021

F1 2021 is the complete package. Braking Point is an excellent single-player experience, driving is perfection, and there's so much to do. It really does have everything, regardless of whether you are a fan of the sport or not.

F1 2021 is one of the broadest depictions of the sport ever created, building on familiar cars and handling alongside returning multiplayer, esports, and My Team career modes, while the new Braking Point story gives you a taste of the teammate drama you loved to watch (and mock) in Netflix's Drive to Survive.

A story mode, two-player career and a raft of useful tweaks render 2021's F1 game more compelling than ever. New elements and sheer class help it retain its racing-game crown.

Another superlative simulation of the Formula One world, now with an enjoyable story mode too.

It's a pleasure to have a racing game so fully featured arrive on the new crop of hardware. There are faults that'll be familiar to long-time fans, and indeed the question whether series stalwarts will find enough new here to warrant the outlay. This is a modest update, then, but a mostly successful one. How exactly EA's influence shows itself in the future remains to be seen, but for now let's enjoy another dependably enjoyable, brilliantly authentic official F1 game.

F1 2021 is the best-looking and most customisable instalment of the long-running Codemasters series to date, and the ability to tinker under the hood of the core career experience and play co-op with a friend is very welcome. With the addition of Braking Point it’s also arguably the boldest F1 game so far.

Overall, F1 2021 is an excellent entry in the series, with a number of additions and tweaks that make it feel refreshing to play. With one of the most comprehensive Career Modes available in a sports game and enough options to make it accessible to anyone, F1 2021 is enjoyable for newcomers and veterans alike.

Hopefully the issues with the AI can be patched as the actual racing and car physics are still excellent. There was a lot of opportunity for F1 2021, and on top of three circuits on this year’s calendar not being readily available for launch, there’s a lot left on the table for the current generation premiere of the series.
