Monster Truck Championship

With the release of Monster Truck Championship by TEYON, a game that hits all the right spots in so many ways is here. MTC isn’t perfect, but it offers a lot of depth, a lot of fun, accessibility, and most importantly, a lot of longevity for the whole family. MTC may not be a game that sits in your console or PC at the top of the rotation forever, but for me, it is one that will stay in the rotation and be visited often.

It promises a unique racing experience for casual gamers without requiring a significant time investment, but consider yourself warned. Barring future updates or downloadable expansions, your MTC experience could mirror that of a real-life monster truck event – two hours of giddy excitement followed by a year where you occasionally revisit the action, but it's never quite as fun as your first time out.

There’s no doubt that Monster Truck Championship is rough around the edges, but its price tag of $40 understates how much hard work has gone into a game which should, all being well, get a more refined and exciting follow-up in years to come. And if any company knows how to franchise even the most niche games, it’s Nacon.

I was never a monster truck fan before, but Monster Truck Championship might have changed that. Multiplayer is a bit of a missed opportunity, but with lots of customization options, and satisfying driving mechanics, Monster Truck Championship is the best monster truck game currently out. If you’re a monster truck fan, you should get this game.
