Facepalm: Skull and Bones, the pirate sim that Ubisoft thinks is so good it's worth a $70 console price tag and a "AAAA" designation, currently has the lowest user score on Metacritic for a game released in 2024 thus far. Even the near-universally disliked Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has a higher user score than the title that took a decade to develop.
Nvidia GeForce drivers have added support for Skull and Bones along with DLSS upscaling. Additional optimizations include Helldivers 2 and Suicide Squad.
A hot potato: Ubisoft is joining the depressingly large number of companies charging $70 for their AAA games, the first of which will be November's Skull and Bones. The French studio has announced that the price will become a standard for its big PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releases. No word on PC games, though it wouldn't be surprising to see it follow in the footsteps of Square Enix and Activision by charging $70 for some titles on the platform.
