And that’s one of the keys to the Logitech G703 gaming mouse: it’s so flexible, and so easily switchable between modes. It exhibits all the mousy goodness one could want. However, while I’m neither here nor there about whether my mouse is wireless or wired, if you’re keen on being untethered, I’d recommend getting the PowerPlay pad as well.

$100 seems like a lot to ask for a G703 that has one meaningful upgrade: the ability to use a proprietary wireless charging mouse pad that costs another $100. If you want the POWERPLAY system, and you’re going to drop $200 on the mouse and pad, you might as well spend $50 more for the G903, which is more full-featured and customizable. High price and rote design aside, you’re sure to be pleased with the G703’s performance, which is excellent.

While the G903 has improved customization options as it appeases to left-handed players, I can’t get over the fact of just how good the G703 feels. The comfort, look and response of the G703 is amazing and worth the price. I can’t remember the last time I stepped away and missed playing a RTS simply because of how the mouse felt. The G903 retails for $149, gets the improved buttons and the same technology, but is geared to be light, responsive and purely for gaming.

With Powerplay limited to only two mice at the moment, the G703 is a pretty easy recommendation. If you prefer a right-handed mouse, or if you just don’t feel like shelling out $150 for the G903...well, this is your only option. And it’s a pretty good option, in large part thanks to that PWM3366 sensor. That brings a touch of high-end performance to what’s otherwise a fairly average, unassuming mouse.
