For 50 quid it packs the punches where it needs to, performance. It might be on the smaller side and does not have side buttons and a set of dedicated DPI controls but for the price, the sensor and Chroma lighting are worth every penny.

I’ll be honest here. If you’re a hardcore gamer who can’t live without things like macro keys and gamepads, you’re going to hate this mouse. You might not even go for this mouse if you’re not already in the “Cult of Razer” (I hate that name) because there are many more ergonomic and functional options available from different brands for less. However, if you don’t need your mouse to do much else than click and scroll (without sacrificing tracking) and again, you’re cool with paying extra for the logo and light show, then this mouse will work for you just fine.

The lack of a DPI button also may be a turn off for some, but I never found it that important. Most people are going to stick with a single DPI and adjust the in-game sensitivity to make it work. As it stands, The Razer Abyssus Essential is a decent mouse that just isn’t quite on par with the competition.
